How Much Does a Small Business Website Cost in Germany?

If you run a small business in Germany and prefer to discuss your project in English, website quotes can be difficult to compare. One includes finished copy, another expects you to supply it, and a third adds ongoing services. Start by defining the pages, language and responsibilities you actually need.

The short answer

LEXERNO starts from €890 for WordPress or €1,390 for Next.js. The entry offer covers up to three content pages in one language, using a proven design foundation or components adapted to your business. You supply finished text and images. These are our starting prices for that scope, rather than a market average for Germany.

One business website, two technical options

LEXERNO starting prices: a one-time implementation fee for a defined website scope
OptionOne-time, fromWhen it may fit
WordPress€890When you want an interface for editing your own content. We agree on how you will use and manage the site.
Next.js€1,390For a coded site using proven components. A content management system is not automatically included.

We agree on the final scope and price in writing after reviewing your requirements. Hosting, domain names and external licences are listed separately unless your quote states otherwise.

No VAT is charged (Small Business Regulation § 19 UStG).

What does the starting price include?

The entry offer is intended for a small informational website that explains your services and makes it easy to contact you. It works best when your business can be described on a few pages and your content is ready to use.

We adapt a proven design foundation or components to your brand. A fully bespoke interface designed from scratch requires its own scope and a separate quote.

  • Up to three content pages in one website language.
  • Layout and integration of finished text and images supplied by you, within the agreed scope.
  • A mobile-friendly implementation and basic technical SEO.
  • Two revision rounds within the agreed scope and handover of the project code.
  • Integration of legal text you provide; drafting or legal review of that text is not included.

WordPress or Next.js: how does the choice affect your budget?

Think about who will update the site after handover. If you want to edit service descriptions and other content through an administration interface, WordPress may be a suitable option. We clarify what you will be able to change and how the handover will work.

Next.js is an option for a coded website built with reusable components. It does not automatically include an editing interface. If you need a content management system, we assess and quote that addition separately.

The initial fee is therefore only part of the decision. Ask who will make future changes and how they will be charged. The right choice fits both the launch budget and the way your business will maintain the website.

What makes a website project cost more?

A small informational website and a custom platform are different projects. More content, new design work and functions such as bookings add work that should be described before a price is agreed.

These are the main requirements to clarify when you request a quote. We agree on additions before implementing them.

  • More pages or a separate page for each service.
  • Copywriting, translation, image sourcing or photography when finished material is not available.
  • A bespoke design created from scratch.
  • Extra languages with their own content, navigation and checks.
  • A shop, booking system, customer account area or integrations with other tools.
  • Extra revision rounds or new requirements outside the agreed scope.

What will you pay after the website is built?

Separate the implementation fee from the domain name, hosting and ongoing care. A one-time build fee does not mean that all external services and future updates are included. We list hosting, domains and external licences separately unless the quote says otherwise.

Optional technical website care at LEXERNO starts from €99 per month. The quote defines which updates, backups, hosting services and response times are included. Content changes are agreed separately.

Compare responsibilities as well as prices: who holds the access details, who updates the content and who responds when something needs attention? A written handover and a defined care scope help you plan the ongoing budget.

Can you discuss the project in English and launch a German website?

Yes. Your project conversation can be in English while the website is in German, using finished German text that you provide. The language you use with LEXERNO does not have to be the language your customers see.

The entry offer covers one website language. A German-English site, or an additional Arabic version, requires more content integration and checks. Translation, copywriting and extra language versions are quoted separately.

For a local service business in Berlin or Potsdam, a focused German website may be a sensible first step. Add another language when it serves a real audience and you can keep that version accurate as your business changes.

A planning example for a small service business

Imagine a service business in Germany needing three content pages: home, services and contact. It already has a logo, finished German text and images it has permission to use. It does not need a shop, automated bookings or a bespoke design from scratch.

That project may fit the entry scope: WordPress from €890 or Next.js from €1,390, depending on the editing needs and agreed implementation. We review the content and requirements before confirming the fit.

This is an illustrative planning example, not a customer case study or a binding quote. Extra languages, new copy or integrations would be assessed separately. We agree on the schedule after checking the scope and the availability of your content.

Questions to ask when comparing website quotes

Give each provider the same brief. Written answers to the questions below make it easier to see whether a price difference reflects a different scope, ongoing service or division of responsibilities.

  • Which pages, language and functions are included?
  • Will an existing foundation be adapted, or will a new design be created?
  • Who supplies text, images and legal documents?
  • How many revision rounds are included, and how are additions handled?
  • Are hosting, domains, licences and future content changes separate?
  • Which access details and project code will you receive?
  • Who maintains the site after launch, and which services are optional?

Common questions about website costs in Germany

Is the starting price a binding quote?

It describes the published entry scope. We review your pages, content and functions, then agree on the final project scope and price in writing before implementation.

Can I brief you in English and have a German website?

Yes. The conversation language and website language are separate. The entry offer includes one website language with finished copy supplied by you. Extra languages, translation and copywriting need a separate agreement.

Are monthly care and later text edits mandatory?

Technical website care from €99 per month is optional. We agree on its scope separately, and content changes are separately agreed. Hosting, domains and licences are also clarified in the quote.

Does the entry price include an online shop or bookings?

Those functions are not automatically included. We assess your requirements and available interfaces and provide a separate scope and quote where needed.

Define the website before setting the final budget

Tell us your business type, the pages and website language you need, and whether your text and images are ready. Include your current website if you have one, and let us know if you want to edit the content yourself. We can then check whether an entry offer fits.
